Jon Miller is a director of the firm. Board Certified in Civil Trial Law-Texas Board of Legal Specialization for over 35 years, he is admitted to practice in Texas, in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and in the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Western Districts of Texas. He has long been rated AV Preeminent® Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell®. He graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a B.A. in 1977 and received his J.D. from St. Mary's University School of Law in 1981.
Throughout his career, Jon has represented a variety of clients in commercial litigation. His commercial clients have included The First National Bank of Bryan, The Bank and Trust of Bryan/College Station, and Brazos Star Credit Union. He has represented the Brazos Central Appraisal District in appraisal litigation since 1993. For many years, Jon represented Coldwell Banker United, Realtors in litigation arising out of real estate transactions, and in such representation, he handled over 100 lawsuits in the greater Houston and Austin areas, and in East Texas and Brazos County. He successfully tried several of these cases to juries in Harris County and Travis County.
He has represented numerous individuals and small business owners in litigation relating to real estate, contracts, oil and gas disputes, and employment disputes. He was appointed as special counsel by the United States Bankruptcy Court to pursue fraudulent transfers by a debtor, and he has extensive experience in debt collection matters. More recently, Jon has represented numerous clients in probate and fiduciary litigation, including will contests and claims of breach of fiduciary duty.
Jon is a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and has achieved membership in the prestigious American Board of Trial Advocates. He is also a member of several organizations, including the Brazos County Bar association, and the State Bar of Texas sections on litigation, business litigation, construction law, consumer law, and taxation law.
